The Jacksonville High School Cross Country Team ended their season yesterday at their local regional held in Community Park despite the inclement weather. The girls and boys finished in the middle of the pack team wise and had no top 10 individual finishers.
For the girls side, the team finished 5th out of 7 with a total of 145 points. Chatham-Glenwood won the team competition with 19 points taking 6 of the Top 10 spots. JHS’ highest finisher was Freshman Lydia Pool who came in 22nd with a time of 20:24.82.
On the boys side, JHS tied for 3rd with Rochester out of 8 teams with a total of 104 points. Chatham-Glenwood again took the top spot with 38 points, grabbing 5 slots in the Top 10. Senior Christian Soltermann fell just outside the Top 10 with an 11th place finish with a time of 15:44.94.
The Illinois College Blueboys sogged through a wet mess of a game and defeated Knox College for their homecoming game 47-17. The Blueboys improve to 5-2 overall and 2-1 in the south Midwest Conference on the season. The Blueboys have a bye week next week before returning to England Stadium on Senior Night on November 9th versus the University of Chicago.
The MacMurray College Highlanders slipped passed the Iowa Wesleyan Tigers on the road yesterday 21-12. The Highlanders will come next week to face a tough Greenville College.
