A former Central State Eight swimmer earned Olympic Gold over the weekend.

Sacred Heart Griffin graduate Ryan Held won gold, alongside 19 time gold medal winner Michael Phelps, Caeleb Dressell and Nathan Adrian, in the 4×100 meter freestyle relay Sunday night in Rio.

The U.S. Men’s team, which last won gold in the event in 2008, held off France by 0.6 seconds to earn the win.

The United States currently leads the medal count with 12, followed by China and Australia.
