8 Points Charter school is releasing its proposal for renewing its charter contract with District 117.

The proposal was faxed Monday morning to WLDS-WEAI News. It indicates 8 Points “continues to improve in the key growth areas of enrollment, retention, and attendance.”

It says the “accountability section of the current contract continues to be an area of serious concern and reflects the area of greatest challenge. However, 8 Points has responded to this data with a combination of organizational re-structuring, as well as additional curricular supports and assessment tools that will drive academic growth to far greater levels than those seen in the school’s first four years of existence.”

The renewal also includes about 25 pages of supporting data. It was indicated on the 8 Points Charter Facebook page the full proposal would be posted online at some point.

District 117 board members authorized Superintendent Steve Ptacek to prepare a resolution of non-renewal for the charter school’s contract last week. Ptacek is sharing his detailed presentation that breaks down the analysis of the contract renewal on his vision117.com website.
