The group formed to fight homelessness in Morgan County has plans to send teams out next month to get a better understanding about the causes of the unhoused.
Salvation Army captain Justian Corliss is joined in the group by Jacksonville alderman Joe Lockman, and former Jacksonville police Chaplain Alan Bradish among others who have banded together to find solutions.
Corliss and the group are looking for volunteers to serve on the Street Outreach initiative.
Corliss says the volunteers will be given questions to ask the homeless, and he will take men and women in teams of four.
Corliss says the questions, and the answers the teams get will determine the best way to fight the problem.
He wants the teams to continue the process over a year period to get feedback in each weather season.
Corliss says he is recruiting men and women, and the process will take a year to complete.
He says the group wants to get a feel for all weather seasons, before determining possible solutions.
