American Hauntings of Jacksonville is visiting the Beardstown Grand Opera House next weekend to kick off the 15th Fall Festival.
American Hauntings owner Troy Taylor says the annual event has been held at several paranormal based locations in the past, such as Alton and Decatur.
Taylor hopes the event, starting at noon on October 3rd, will draw attention to the Grand Opera House, which is undergoing a restoration project.
Taylor highlights the different speakers attending the event.
“We’ve got a speaker who is talking about Mary Todd Lincoln and her beliefs in spiritualism and the supernatural. We have a speaker from Decatur coming to talk about the Lincoln Theater. That is one of the most haunted places in America. We have an author from Rockford that does Haunted Rockford tours and has written books about the area, ” says Taylor.
Raffle prizes, music, special activities and food from the Soap Co. Coffee House will be provided.
A ghost hunt will take place inside the Grand Opera House at 8 p.m.
The Jacksonville Haunted Tours will also be opening on October 3rd. The tours start at 7 p.m.
