A Jacksonville man has been arrested in connection with a fight at a Circle K gas station earlier this month.
Twenty-two-year-old Shakil Berry of the 400 block of South Mauvaisterre was booked at the Morgan County Jail on Wednesday at around 8 p.m. for aggravated battery and unlawful possession of a weapon.
Jacksonville Police Lieutenant Eric Hansell says Berry is alleged to have punched someone in the head with a set of brass knuckles. One person was taken to the hospital for treatment following the incident on North Main.
Police believe two follow-up incidents in the 6-hundred block of North West and the area of Clay and Dunlap the same day that involved shots fired is connected, and that the series of incidents is related to the Jackson-Berry feud that has been ongoing since the October 2014 murder of Marcus Jackson.
Berry remains in custody.
