An arrest has been made in connection to a fatal motor vehicle accident in Greene County last December.

Twenty-eight-year-old Justin Farris of White Hall was booked at the Greene County Jail on Thursday afternoon on a Greene County arrest warrant for aggravated DUI that involved a motor vehicle accident where a fatality occurred. Farris turned himself in.

Greene County Sheriff Rob McMillen says the arrest warrant was a result of an Illinois State Police investigation into the two-vehicle accident that happened on December 1st on Route 267 in the Greenfield area.

State police reports indicate the DUI warrant was based on controlled substances allegedly in Farris’ system, and that it’s not alcohol-related.

The driver killed in the crash still has been identified by state police as Dennis Meinert, age and address unavailable.

Farris remains in custody at the Greene County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bond.
