A Scott County school district wants some cash to fix up its gymnasium.
Bluffs School District is issuing a $300K safety and fire prevention bond for the purposes of replacing the school’s old gym floor and bleacher system.
Superintendent Kevin Blankenship says a study has found asbestos in the gym floor, and that custodians have a difficult time setting up the 60-year-old-plus bleachers.
Blankenship adds the bleachers aren’t compliant with the Americans With Disabilities Act.
