An assistant principal position could be created for Jacksonville Middle School.

District 117 board members will make that decision during tonight’s monthly meeting. The position would take effect during the 2016-2017 school year.

Also on the agenda is the consideration of an upgrade to North Elementary, the contract for the Lincoln Elementary project and hiring alternative education positions in the district.

District 117 Superintendent Steve Ptacek met with representatives from South Jacksonville earlier this month to discuss support from the village’s TIF Extension. Board members will vote on that action tonight.

An update will be provided on the Vision 117 project.

The meeting starts at 7 p.m. at Jacksonville High School.
