Jacksonville Police uncovered what’s believed to be a “one pot” methamphetamine lab next to MacMurray College Sunday night.
Thirty-year-old Cecil Parr was arrested at his residence in the 2-hundred block of Hardin at around 7:45 p.m. after police reportedly responded to a domestic disturbance. The meth lab was discovered in the course of that investigation, police say.
The residence was evacuated and secured until the Illinois State Police Meth Response Team responded.
Police then obtained a search warrant for the residence and arrested Parr for aggravated participation in meth manufacturing, possession of methamphetamine, meth-manufacturing materials and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Parr remains in custody.
Jacksonville Police made one other arrest on Sunday.
Thirty-four-year-old Kevin Williams of the 200 block of Franklin was arrested for aggravated criminal sexual abuse.
According to a press release, the arrest stems from incidents in 2012 that took place in the city with a victim that was 14 years old at the time. Police say Williams and the victim knew each other.
Williams remains in custody.
