CGB Diversified Services purchased a crop insurance business headquartered in Topeka, Kansas this week.
Vice President of Operations Brad Leighton says adding Heartland Crop Insurance, a company founded in 2000, will help CGB Diversified Services to continue expanding operations for the American farmer.
“We have been looking for possible transactions to grow a footprint. It is going to make us probably the fifth largest company in the crop insurance business in the United States. Today we are number seven. If we put them together we would be in the top three. That would lead to better name recognition and better opportunities to create efficiency. We are in 36 states right now and Heartland is in some states we aren’t,” says Leighton.
Leighton says the Jacksonville headquarters of CGB Diversified Services won’t see any big changes.
