Discussion on the 2016 tax levy gets things started during tonight’s Jacksonville City Council get-together.

Members of the Finance Committee will meet at 5:45 for the discussion, which is scheduled to carry over into the workshop session, which begins at 6:30. Tonight’s meeting includes aldermen voting on the first reading of the levy ordinance.

Other action on the agenda includes discussing and voting on a resolution for the Collective Bargaining Agreement with the Jacksonville Fire Fighters Association Local 637.

City Council members have one Parks and Lakes item to decide, and that’s a resolution authorizing waiver of advertisement for bids and accepting a proposal from PlayPower for a new set of playground equipment at Community Park.

Aldermen will also hear about an application made for the Revolving Loan Fund tonight.

It’s all happening at the Jacksonville Municipal Building on West Douglas.
