An area bank is announcing that “Jacksonville Night at Busch Stadium” is returning again this year with proceeds from the event going to local youth baseball programs.

CNB Bank & Trust is partnering with Illinois College and Jacksonville High School baseball to bring back the annual celebration of the city at Busch Stadium. This year’s “Jacksonville Night” game actually takes place in the afternoon, as the Cardinals host the Chicago Cubs on Saturday, May 5th at 1:15 p.m.

CNB Director of Marketing Shelley Singleton says that this year’s goal is to sell 15-hundred tickets, with all proceeds going to Jacksonville Area Baseball and Pony Colt Leagues, which provide baseball and softball to area youths between the ages of four and sixteen.

While Helen Henry Glisson had the honor of throwing out the first pitch at last year’s “Jacksonville Night” game, Illinois College President Dr. Barbara Farley will be taking the mound this at this year’s game. Dr. Farley officially kicked off the entire event back on January 27th when hundred of area residents gathered at IC to hear from St. Louis Cardinals head coach Mike Matheny.

Similar to years past, buses will again be available for $25 per person, with both a family bus and an Illinois College bus. Those buses will meet at CNB Bank & Trust at 9:30 a.m. and plan on departing from Jacksonville at 10 a.m. to make it to Busch Stadium for the 1:15 p.m. game.

For those interested in attending “Jacksonville Night at Busch Stadium,” tickets can be purchased at CNB Bank & Trust, located at 1351 Lincoln Avenue for $60 apiece. Tickets are also available online at CNBIL.com for $62 dollars.
