Morgan-Scott Crimestoppers is celebrating its 30th anniversary this weekend with a special event for the public.

Loren Hamilton, President of the Illinois Crimestoppers Board of Directors, says “Line Up Against Crime” offers an afternoon of fun for the people who have helped solve countless crimes in the area.

“We’ve got youth activities like fingerprinting and games. Captain America is going to be there. ATD Security, the Women’s Crisis Center and Citizens Police Academy will all have a booth.”

Hamilton says reaching the 30 year milestone is a phenomenal moment for Crimestoppers.

“I think we are probably stronger than we have ever been before. That is thanks to the media and public help. I can’t thank them enough and I hope they come out to thank themselves.”

Morgan County Sheriff Randy Duvendack will be in attendance.

The event will run from 11-3 p.m. on Saturday in the Dunhams parking lot in Jacksonville. Admission is free.
