Jacksonville State Representative C.D. Davidsmeyer was among those passing along the message “Bring the House of Representatives back to Springfield” on Wednesday.

The House recessed earlier this month and isn’t scheduled to reconvene until April. Davidsmeyer says nine months without a budget is hurting colleges, students, and human services, in this audio courtesy of our reporting partners at WICS ABC Newschannel 20.

“There’s a lot of blame being pointed around; a lot of blame being passed around. We’re tired of the blame. We want to come forward and work on this. The issue that we’re having right now is, up to this point, the only thing we’ve had the opportunity to vote on is the same budgets I’ve voted no on for the last three years,” says Davidsmeyer.

The House is set to return to session on April 4th.
