A Chapin man was reportedly tased and arrested by deputies from the Morgan County Sherriff’s Department this afternoon.

Sherriff Randy Duvendack says officers received a domestic battery report, allegedly involving a mother and son, at around noon.

Upon arriving at 900 block of Cylinder Head Road in Chapin, deputies witnessed the son, 29 year old Kenneth Seymour of Chapin, secure himself in the backseat of a vehicle.

While trying to remove Seymour from the car, a deputy was reportedly kicked, resulting in Seymour being tased.

Duvendack says a citizen in the area was struck by Seymour as well. Deputies were on the scene for around 20 minutes.

Seymour was arrested for aggravated battery, domestic battery and resisting a police officer.

Seymour remains in custody at the Morgan County Jail.

Correction: Seymour has not been formally charged.
