District 117 board members will vote to approve that decision during tonight’s meeting. According to the U.S. Department of Education, schools nationwide receive over $14 billion a year in funding for children at risk of failure or living near poverty.
Other action from board members will include the consideration for approval of contracts with Total Spectrum, The Autism Program of Illinois and a new sign language interpreter.
Items under the consent agenda include increasing the price of adult lunches and renewing a contract between District 117 and Maxim Health Service
Chief Financial Officer Jamie Hadjan will present a tentative budget for fiscal year 2016. The budget is expected to change within the next 30 days.
Several board polices will also be reviewed.
The meeting starts at 7 p.m. at Jacksonville High School.
