A vote on a potential contract with an architectural group could be voted on tonight by Jacksonville School District 117’s Board of Education regarding a renovation project at South Elementary.

At last week’s meeting, the Board looked at and eventually approved the construction model and design for the project, but have yet to finalize a contract needed for the project to get underway.

When speaking with Superintendent Steve Ptacek last week, he said the board will likely vote to give the Springfield-based Graham and Hyde Architects, which the district has worked with on various projects in the past, approval to begin seeking bids for the project.

While the main focus will center on the consideration of a contract with Graham and Hyde, there are several other action items as well. They include personnel recommendations, student discipline and the consideration of a budget.

Tonight’s meeting will begin at 5:30 in the media center at Jacksonville High School.
