Ellis resigns as President of the JREDC

A prominent figure in the economic development of the Jacksonville area is stepping down from his role.

The Jacksonville Regional Economic Development Corporation, or JREDC, is announcing that President Paul Ellis has resigned from his position to accept an offer from Fairview Heights, Illinois.

According to a press release from the JREDC, Ellis is taking over as Director of Economic Development for Fairview Heights on November 13th.

The JREDC hired Ellis as its President in August of 2016. JREDC Chairman Shawn Rennecker said in the press release that the JREDC appreciates the value Ellis brought to the organization during his time as President, and that Ellis assisted with important initiatives on workforce development and strategic planning.

It is unclear at this time who will replace Ellis as the new President of the JREDC.
