Morgan County Commissioner Ginny Fanning has been appointed to join the Economic Development Executive Committee Board.
The decision was unanimously approved yesterday during the Morgan County board of commissioners meeting.
Fanning says she was happy to accept the position and hopes to do as good a job as the person who previously held the seat, the late Dick Rawlings.
“I’m looking forward to being a part of all of this,” says Fanning.
“The county is one of the largest investors in the Jacksonville Regional Economic Development Corporation, so I’m happy we have seats at the table and we are able to voice our opinion.”
The position is one that Fanning is familiar with. During her time with the Chamber of Commerce, Fanning was fortunate enough to sit in on several Jacksonville Regional Economic Development Corporation meetings.
“I’ve worked with the team there and I was an invited guest to their quarterly meetings,” says Fanning.
“I was always kept in the loop so to speak. Now in a different role, I hope to contribute even more.”
Fanning expressed that the services the JREDC offers are vital to the county.
