A Jacksonville woman is filing federal litigation against a city trucking company.

The suit, filed earlier this month in Springfield by Alfrieda Mahler against Brahler’s Truckers Supply, Incorporated, claims a violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act. Mahler has worked at the company for nearly 13 years and claims she has not been properly compensated for overtime work for the last three.

The suit, which only represents one side of the claim, says Brahler’s manipulated Mahler’s job title to circumvent pay obligations and kept her as a salaried employee when she should have been hourly. Mahler worked as an office manager, according to the suit.

The suit seeks compensation for the overtime that’s claimed is owed to Mahler.

Mahler is represented by the St. Louis-based Weiss law firm.
