The Jacksonville City Council approved an economic development loan of $5,000 to The Frozen Penguin last night at the regularly scheduled City Council Meeting on Monday. The money will come from the Revolving Loan Fund, which assists new or expanding businesses in Jacksonville by making low-interest loans on qualifying projects.

Randy Cooper, the Co-Owner of The Frozen Penguin, explains why they applied for the loan from the city instead of a bank.

Cooper explains what The Frozen Penguin plans to do with the money.

Cooper says the Frozen Penguin will be reopening soon so you can come check out the changes made with the loan.

The Frozen Penguin is located at 216 S Mauvaisterre St. in Jacksonville.
