Our area dodged a bullet with severe storms that blew through last night.

There were reports of hail throughout Morgan and Scott Counties for a storm that started at around 6:15 p.m. The biggest was baseball-sized hail in Alexander. Quarter-sized hail fell at the WLDS-WEAI radio station.

A Tornado Warning was put up for eastern portions of Morgan County. There was a report of a funnel cloud spotted near Waverly, but Morgan County Emergency Services Director Phil McCarty says no tornado touchdown was confirmed.

McCarty says the storm appeared to avoid all populated areas in Morgan County before moving on east.

There have been reports of tornado damage in the Springfield area.
