A Roodhouse man is facing charges following allegations he used an 83-year-old woman’s credit card to go on a shopping spree.

Twenty-nine-year-old Franklin Castleberry was booked at the Greene County Jail on Thursday on a warrant for financial exploitation of an elderly person.

An investigation by the White Hall Police Department yielded allegations of Castleberry obtaining unauthorized control of the victim’s credit card, and making unauthorized purchases from October to December of last year.

White Hall Police Chief Luke Coultas says the purchases were made at various stores in White Hall and totaled nearly $15,000.

Because the purchases totaled between $5,000 and $50,000, Castleberry is facing a Class 2 felony, according to police.

Castleberry is free on bond.
