The Headwest Sub Shop made a big splash in Jacksonville on Friday during the locations grand opening.
Located just off the Downtown Square at 401 South Main, the restaurant offers customers the choice of submarine sandwiches, soups and salads.
WLDS/WEAI News spoke to several people coming in and out of the restaurant on Friday, including Jeremy Wilson of Jacksonville, who was excited for his first dining experience at Headwest.
“It’s new in town, but I’ve heard a lot of good things about it,” says Wilson.
Other people we spoke to complimented the cool design of the building, wide variety on the menu and the specialty bread.
Headwest was founded in Springfield and has since spread across Central Illinois to Rochester, Decatur and Chatham. The Jacksonville location is now the ninth shop and is open daily from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
