A pre-trial hearing on February 4th, 2015 is the next important date in the murder trial of former Jacksonville real estate agent Robert Heitbrink.

The 50-year-old Heitbrink, his attorney James Elmore, and special prosecutor Charles Colburn appeared before Circuit Judge Chris Reif this morning. Colburn said the prosecution has finished its discovery process. Elmore said the defense is still working on its investigation for the case.

Heitbrink is charged with three counts of first degree murder for allegedly stabbing his step-father-in-law, 70-year-old William McElhaney of Charleston, South Carolina to death at the realtor’s Ivywood Drive residence during the early morning hours of July 27th, 2013.

No motive has yet been released.
