Youth hunters of West Central Illinois are invited to participate in the annual Illinois Youth Firearm Deer Hunt over Columbus Day weekend.
The event will take place at Jim Edgar Panther Creek State Fish and Wildlife Area, located in Cass County.
The hunt is open to youth hunters who haven’t reached their 16th birthday, prior to the open date of the season. All youth hunters must have a valid Youth Firearm Deer Permit.
Participants must submit a postcard to the JEPC site office by September 3rd to enter a drawing for 75 hunters to hunt the two open units. The drawing will take place on September 5th.
The postcard must include the youth hunter’s name, age, address and phone number.
