The Illinois College men’s basketball team and Leo’s Pizza worked together last night to raise money for Coaches Versus Cancer.
The promotion ran from 2 p.m. until midnight on Tuesday, with 15 percent of the profits benefiting the charity.
Our reporting partners at WICS ABC Newschannel 20 caught up with Illinois College men’s basketball coach Mike Worrell at the event.
“All of us know people that have cancer or that it’s affected at one time. Our guys feel good about themselves that they’re able to contribute to this cause.”
Members of the IC basketball team worked as wait staff at the restaurant.
Coaches Versus Cancer has raised more than $87 million to help the American Cancer Society.
