The Greene County Sheriff’s Department has detained a Roodhouse man wanted on out-of-state charges of burglary and parole violation for delivery of methamphetamine.

A press release reports the Greene County Sheriff’s Department and Roodhouse Police Department received information that 46-year-old Gary Wyatt, formerly from Loogootee, Indiana, was residing in rural Roodhouse.

A previous attempt to locate Wyatt at a White Hall residence was unsuccessful.

With the assistance of the Greene County Multi-Agency Response Team, deputies executed a search warrant at the Roodhouse location where Wyatt was living on Tuesday. Wyatt was reportedly found inside with a fully-loaded rifle close to him.

Wyatt was immediately taken into custody without incident. Authorities say a female subject in the home was briefly detained at the scene, but was released with no charges being filed against her at this time.

Wyatt remains in the Greene County jail for the two Indiana charges and a new charge of unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon.
