Interstate crash results in the death of a New Berlin woman

A New Berlin woman is dead following a vehicle crash near Springfield on Wednesday.

The “State Journal-Register” reports 66-year-old Roberta Wilson was driving east on Interstate 72 at approximately 6 p.m. when her car went off the road and overturned near the Veterans Parkway exit.

According to Illinois State Police, Wilson was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the vehicle.

The report says witnesses told troopers that Wilson’s vehicle was forced off of the road by another vehicle, causing her vehicle to go off the right side of the pavement, pass through a grassy area and the cross the entry ramp.

Wilson died at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.
