Graduation is tomorrow for a handful of students at Illinois School for the Deaf and Illinois School for the Visually Impaired.

ISD principal Christine Good-Deal has been at the high school for more than a decade and is proud of the ten boys and nine girls graduating in the class of 2016.

Good-Deal says the future is bright for the students graduating this year.

“We have several attending Gallaudet University and Rochester Institute of Technology. We have our first lumberjack. They are such a diverse group. We have everything from teachers to graphic designers to diesel mechanics,” notes Good-Deal.

Farenica Onuegbu will be recognized as one of the top academic graduates.

Graduation starts at 11:30 a.m. at Marshall Gymnasium.

Representatives from ISVI informed us that four students will be graduating from the school this year. Alayna Lopez will speak on behalf of her graduating class.

The graduation ceremony for ISVI starts at 9:30 a.m. at the school.
