Morgan County Circuit Judge Chris Reif set Shaw’s bond at $3,500, and Shaw left the Morgan County Jail around 5 p.m. Tuesday. Charges have not formally been filed against Shaw yet. He was arrested Monday afternoon for twelve counts of forgery and one count of identity theft.

Shaw did not appear at Monday’s city council meeting. Jacksonville Mayor Andy Ezard says Shaw sent the mayor, City Attorney Dan Beard and City Clerk Skip Bradshaw an email on December 22nd indicating he’d be taking a “leave of absence for personal reasons.”

Ezard says aldermen aren’t required to attend city council meetings.

Shaw was given a notice to appear in Morgan County Court on February 17th.

Multiple attempts to call Shaw have resulted in a disconnected number message, and Shaw’s Facebook page has been taken offline.
