That spooky costume you plan on wearing tonight could earn you some big bucks at several local establishments.
Year after year Jacksonville bars usher in patrons over Halloween weekend with special entertainment and prizes for the best costumes.
Pam Meier is a bartender at Et’s Zodiac in South Jacksonville and says this weekend is a great time to enjoy some nightlife in Jacksonville.
“Oh it is always lots of fun. We had a really good crowd last year. We judge the costumes. There is a first, second and third place and lots of prizes.”
The party at Et’s Zodiac starts at 8 p.m. and judging begins at 10 p.m.
If music is what you are interested in, DJ Joe Fun will be live at Don’s Place and the band F-5 will perform at Club 217. Both establishments will also host a costume contest.
KJB’s Pinthaus turns the bar top into a makeshift runway for guests to strut their costumes. Cash prizes and party certificates will be awarded to the participant with the loudest applause.
The biggest prize of the night could be handed out at the West Morgan Depot, with the best costume winning a vacation package to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.
West Central Mass Transit buses will be in the area to give patrons a lift home.
