The Jacksonville Lions Club wrapped up February with a generous donation to a state charity in an effort to combat childhood cancer.
During the month of February, the Lions pushed their ongoing mint sales in order to donate portions of the proceeds to Leaps of Love. The Highland, Illinois based charity provides support and resources to families who are waging a battle against childhood cancer.
The Jacksonville Lions created several baskets for local families who are dealing with a childhood cancer diagnosed and presented Leaps of Love Founder & Director Tracie Riechmann with a check for $500 earlier this week. Prior to that, the Lions accepted a check from funds collected by students from Our Saviour School. Students were allowed to make a donation for a non-uniform day at the school in order to support the fundraiser.

The mint boxes will continue to stay at local businesses as the Lions will continue to collect proceeds to focus on the Lions other areas of focus to benefit local residents.
