Jacksonville man dies in apparent para-gliding accident

A Jacksonville man was reportedly killed in a para-glider accident Friday evening near Quincy.

KHQA-TV reports 50-year-old Reinder F. “Buddy” Schilsky was pronounced dead at around 10:30 Friday night as a result of injuries sustained from the accident, which occurred in a farm field near Interstate 172 and Route 24.

Schilsky was taken to the Blessing Hospital emergency room as a result of injuries sustained from the accident, and was pronounced dead by the Adams County Coroner.

According to a press release from the Adams County Sheriff’s Department, the Federal Aviation Administration is now involved in the ongoing investigation.
