Buying tickets for one particular St. Louis Cardinals game meant a big donation to local baseball programs this week.

CNB Bank and Trust and Jacksonville Mayor Andy Ezard presented a $5,000 check to the Jacksonville Area Baseball Association on Thursday after 1,000 tickets were sold for CNB Jacksonville Night at Busch Stadium on May 6th.

The thousand-ticket threshold was the minimum required to make “Jacksonville Night” official. It’s the first time such an event will be held at Busch Stadium in several decades.

The St. Louis Cardinals sold the tickets to CNB at a discounted price and allowed the bank to re-sell the tickets at a regular price, donating the profits to the local baseball organization, according to a press release.
