Jax Chamber hosting Grant Writing Workshops

The Education Division of the Jacksonville Area Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring a pair of grant writing workshops in April.

While the Jacksonville Area Chamber of Commerce Business and Health Division has been offering seminars for years, President Lisa Musch says this will be the first seminar of its kind in the city.

Musch says offering a grant writing seminar has been on the Chamber’s bucket list for a while.

“Obviously that division realizes the importance of grants to our educational facilities. We have a lot of non-profit members who can benefit from grant writing opportunities. We are reaching out to our membership who are working with a business, non-profit or serving as a board member for an organization,” says Musch.

Musch is excited to hear what professional Grant Writer Kristin Olson presents during the two-part seminar on April 14th.

“From 10-noon she is offering research for grant opportunities, which will help narrow your search to find out what your organization might be eligible for. From 12:30-2:30 she is talking about grant funding myths and an intro to federal grants. She will explain the realities of grant seeking. In return, she hopes those in attendance will make better grant decisions and increase their credibility in the grant world.”

According to Musch, “quite a few people” have already signed up for the workshops. Registration for Chamber members is $10 for one workshop or $15 for both. The general public will be charged $25 for one workshop and $40 for the pair.
