Thirty-four local businesses showed off their products and services during the Jacksonville Area Chamber of Commerce Business Expo last night.

Executive Director Lisa Musch talked about the positive direction the Chamber of Commerce is heading.

“Last year we had 73 new members join the chamber and reached over 600 members, which is a higher mark than we have had the past couple of years. We are excited to see what is coming up this year.”

Curious members of the community stopped by the event at Hamiliton’s from 4-6 p.m. to learn more about the stores and restaurants in the Jacksonville and sign up for an opportunity to win one of three $100 Chamber Checks.

Musch says business owners at the Business Expo are always looking to improve their stores and shops, so networking plays a big role.

“We are glad to have them here and have them network with each other. They want to see what everybody else has to offer, which is great because that doesn’t always happen at Business Expos.”

The Chamber of Commerce Boss of the Year Award went to Joanne Chumley of All Occasions Flowers and Gifts.
