Aldermen compromised with Jacksonville Mayor Andy Ezard, who had wanted the workshop meetings pushed back from 6:30 to 5:30, by agreeing to have the meetings start at 6:00 on a trial basis.
During tonight’s meeting, aldermen will vote on a second reading of an ordinance expanding the city’s enterprise zone to include two new businesses on Walnut Street. The council must also approve a resolution for an intergovernmental agreement with Morgan County for the enterprise zone.
Aldermen will also vote on a resolution to approve the creation of a smartphone app focusing on the Morgan County emergency services department.
