The keynote speakers have been announced for the Jacksonville Mayor’s Unity Breakfast happening on Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
The speakers for the breakfast are Gloria Helms-Williams of Springfield and Eric Robinson of Jacksonville.
Helms-Williams is a 1985 graduate of Jacksonville High School. She served for over 17 years in Illinois state government, including as the administrator of the Fair Employment Practices Unit overseeing the Minority and Female Business Enterprise Program.
Robinson is the president of the NAACP branch in Jacksonville. He’s a Chicago native who worked as a mediator for the trucking and transportation industry. Robinson is a member of the Rainbow PUSH Coalition in Chicago and a member of the Jacksonville Police Academy.
The breakfast will be held at Hamilton’s at 110 North East Street. Tickets are ten dollars and are available at the door. You can also reserve them by calling the Mayor’s office at 479-4610.
