Two Jacksonville men are in custody following a raid of a house on South Main Street last night.
Twenty-five-year-old Joshua Woods and 27-year-old Julius Woods were booked at the Morgan County Jail this morning at around 1:15 and 2:15 a.m. respectively both for manufacture or delivery of controlled substances.
The Jacksonville Police Department Special Response Team was called to 814 South Main at around 6 p.m. to execute a search warrant for Illinois State Police, according to the JPD. Police dressed up in SWAT gear and armed with assault rifles remained at the house for about two hours.
Jamie Jackson with the Illinois State Police says Joshua Woods lived at the residence, and was arrested along with his brother for possession of cocaine. Jackson says they were suspected of being a part of a drug distribution ring.
Jackson says the Special Response Team was activated because one of the Woods was out on bond on a previous weapons charge.
The Morgan County Jail booking sheet lists both Josh and Julius Woods as living in the 300 block of Anna. Both remain in custody.
Jackson says only a couple of grams of cocaine were seized as evidence, along with an unspecified amount of cash and cannabis.
