Registration is now open for the July 4th Independence Day run at Nichols Park.
The event sponsored by Heartland Bank will be a 5K run, walk and fun run from Nichols Park through Jacksonville and South Jacksonville and back.
All proceeds from the event go to Prairieland United Way.
The cost is $25 for the first person by June 27th, and $12 for an additional family members. The cost jumps after the 27th.

Awards will be given in multiple categories in each age group for men and women.
The run will begin with later registration at 6:30 AM on the 4th. The 5K run and walk starts at 7:30, and the fun run for those 12 and under starts at 8:15 AM. Bag pick up in Jacksonville is at Heartland Bank on the 3rd, and race day at 6:30.
