South Jacksonville’s Village President is planning to veto a unanimous decision from the village board of trustees, which rescinded a separation agreement last week with Police Chief Richard Evans.

The action is listed under the Mayor’s Report for tonight’s monthly meeting. Trustee members originally passed the separation agreement for Evans on May 7th by a 4-2 vote, but reversed the decision last week after discussing the topic with legal counsel  by a vote of 5-0. Trustee Sonnie Smith was not present.

Trustees are also scheduled to appoint an acting village president to take over for Jumper, effective June 21st.

Several ordinances in relation to the zoning and annexation of the property at 1721 Orlando will be voted on as well. A public hearing for the annexation agreement of the property will be held at 6:45 p.m.

The regularly-scheduled meeting gets underway at Village Hall at 7 p.m.
