The Jacksonville Parks and Lakes Department is informing the public of several important dates for local hunters and fishermen.

Lake Jacksonville deer and duck site holders can officially pay for their spots. Deer sites are $10 per person, with a limit of up to four people per site. Duck blinds are $200 for the season.

Deer hunters may start hunting on October 23rd as long as their site has been paid for.

According to the Illinois Department of Natural Resources, there will once again be stocking of trout at Morgan Lake of Nichols Park. A press release notes that there will be a two week period of only catch and release fly-fishing starting on Saturday.

The fall trout season then opens up for catch and keep on October 17th. All anglers must have a valid fishing license and Inland Trout Stamp. The daily catch limit for each angler is five trout.
