Lincoln Land Community College’s summer learning program for students in third through eighth grade is returning to Jacksonville.

LLCC Youth Enrichment Services Coordinator Jessica Ingold breaks down the variety of courses offered for the 2016 College for Kids program.

“We have American Sign Language, Anime Japanese, Comfort Food, Dragon Genetics, Get Scrappy, Ship of Miracles, Speedometry, TP Geometry and War Dogs,” says Ingold.

Ingold says College for Kids gets tremendous support for local teachers each year.

“These are instructors that come to us. We say we are looking for teachers who would like to work with kids. They come to us with ideas from the surrounding communities. They all step up and give up their summer to share these experiences with the kids,” says Ingold.

Class sizes are limited for each course. Students can choose three, one hour classes taking place from June 6-9. To register a student call 786-2432 or go online to www.llcc.edu.
