A Jacksonville radio personality has been arrested for aggravated criminal sexual abuse.

Fifty-year-old Perry Brown of Carlinville was also booked at the Sangamon County Jail at around 3:30 yesterday afternoon for traveling to meet a minor, and two counts of indecent solicitation of a child.

Sangamon County State’s Attorney John Milhiser says Brown allegedly solicited on the internet a child between the ages of 13 and 17 to perform a sex act, traveled to meet the child in Sangamon County, and had sex.

Milhiser says the most serious charge is the aggravated criminal sexual abuse charge, which he says is a Class 2 felony punishable by three to seven years in the Illinois Department of Corrections.

Brown has been released on bond. His next court date is May 20th.

Brown is the program director at WEAI radio.
