A MacMurray College associate Philosophy professor has been invited to write an entry for The Oxford Encyclopedia of Martin Luther.
Dr. Eric Berg will be tasked with writing a six-eight-thousand word entry in the upcoming publication entitled “History and Its Meaning.”
In a press release, Berg says his entry “will be the bible for concise summaries of the current research in the field, but also a 21st century tool that leads the direction that scholarly publications are going in the future.”
The online research effort is intended as a scholarly alternative to Wikipedia.
Berg earned his Ph.D in philosophy from the University of Kansas, his master’s at Luther Seminary and his bachelor’s at Minnesota State University Moorhead.
Berg was a 2007 recipient of the Dewey Wilkins Award for Teaching Excellence at MacMurray.
The publication is due out in 2017.
