Legislation signed by Senator Sam McCann and Governor Bruce Rauner is making life better for business owners and unemployed workers.
According to a press release, businesses will find it less costly to add employees and unemployed workers will receive additional protection.
McCann stated that passing this bill was “truly a win for everyone in Illinois” by strengthening the standards for employee misconduct, stopping Social Security age and eliminating issues that could have increased taxes on employers by $470 million in 2016.
The bill is the result of six months of negotiations with legislators, labor leaders, employers and other stakeholders, led by the Governor’s office.
