Mediacom is upgrading network technology to provide high definition service for customers in Morgan County.
The upgrade will affect the Family Cable channel series that subscribers find on their lineup between 23 and 74.
According to a Mediacom press release, those channels will transition to a digital-only frequency in June and continued reception will require the use of a digital converter or adapter.
Current customers can receive up to three digital adapters at no cost through May 31st.
Company officials describe the upgrade as an investment to give customers improved picture and audio quality. The lineup will deliver nearly 100 HD channel choices.
The phase-out of analog television transmission will begin June 2nd. The “Big HD” launch will kick off at the end of June.
