A Jacksonville student has won the top prize for music performance from Millikin University.
Brock Gwaltney was awarded the prize on Sunday following a piano recital. Gwaltney, a senior, performed a variety of musical selections, including from Chopin and Beethoven, according to a story on the Millikin website. He receives a $2-thousand award.
In recognition of his award, Gwaltney will perform a recital this Sunday at the Gail Borden Public Library in Elgin at 2 p.m.
